I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Emberly's passing. She was my son's 3rd grade teacher at West park. She was so sweet and caring, my son was struggling and she took the extra time to help him. He still has the baseball cards she gave him. Mrs Emberly also would go watch my daughter play basketball after school. She truly went the extra mile for the children. Mrs Emberly you will be missed.

I am shocked at Lorraine's death. I am unable to attend the celebration of her life. My warm and loving thoughts are with the family and all the ones that were lucky enough to know her. I was lucky and honored to work with her. I was really disappointed when she retired before my grandchildren were able to experience what a wonderful teacher she was. A special hug to Tracey - stop by when you can. Love and Hugs, Judy

Dear Roger and Family,
Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy for your loss of Lorraine. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
While words seem inadequate to express the emptiness we all feel, memories keep filling my thoughts and reminding me of how much she impacted all of us.
Lorraine's reputation as a newly hired first year teacher preceded her to Westwood Elementary. When Don Grassman heard that Lorraine Emberley would be teaching third grade, he could not refrain from lavishing the highest level of praise possible. He let us know that we would be the recipients of a dedicated educator who would work tirelessly to impact student learning. Don had the advantage of having had Lorraine work in his room as a classroom aide a few years back. The amazing thing about Don's accolades was that from the time Lorraine stepped on the campus, we all agreed it was true. We were the lucky ones. Lorraine's success with students and staff was obvious. Her sense of humor and skill to laugh always ironed out any major bumps she encountered. Singing was a joy and a tool. She could calm a room of rowdy students in a snap with one of her musical ditties. You could often find her knee deep in the garden while her students explored the cycles of plants and animals. You could find Roger too, for that matter. They made quite a pair.
Lovingly,
Marty Adams

Mrs. Emberley was the my first mentor when I first moved to napa from the philippines. she was the best, most caring teacher in the world, and it wasn't just in the classroom... she loved everyone of us just like one of her own. She was so patient and persistent with me. Ill never forget the days where she would take her own time out of the day just to teach me something extra since i didn't know how to speak English then.. I soon became one of her best students and once i graduated from elementary I came to visit her once in a while and she still had that same smile on her face like the first day i met her. from the bottom of my heart, thank you Mrs. Emberly.
you'll never be forgotten <3
