Lerneda Leona Gaudino

Lerneda passed away on February 10, 2017, in Ellensburg, Washington. She was born in Boelus, Nebraska, on September 7, 1923, but moved with her parents to Napa, California, as a young girl, where she lived until 2013 when she moved to Ellensburg to be near her family.

Lerneda is survived by her son, Jim Gaudino, and his wife, Katie; and by her grandsons, Brian and his wife, Lucy Biederman, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Christopher, of Los Angeles, California. In addition to her parents, Earl and Hilda Brothwell, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, and her daughter, Christine.

Lerneda grew up in Napa and graduated from Napa County High School. She worked as a clerk for the US Government at the Vallejo Munitions Plant during World War II, before marrying Peter and settling into life as a homemaker and devoted mother to Jim and Christine. She served her community faithfully through her life, first as a Cub Scout, youth sport and school volunteer, as well as a volunteer poll worker in Napa elections for many decades. Lerneda was also an active member of the Vineyard Trails DAR and the Napa County Genealogical Society for many decades, both which she pursued with passion.

Lerneda’s family will remember her for her sweetness, her wry humor, and her sincere gratitude for the love in her life. She was blessed with a long and fruitful life leaving wonderful memories for her family and friends.
