What a sad day the world lost a good man. I am thankful to have had Mr Carter as a 6 th grade teacher back in 1981. He was a strong essence of a man and the world is only at loss for the influence that he may have placed on the young people he has not had the opportunity to meet. RIP Mr.Carter. I will never forget you. As his family...what a blessing to have had such a man as part of the core of your family. My condolences.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing but how wonderful and how full his life reads. You must miss him greatly and how proud you must be of his love of giving to others. I am writing to you because we as a historical society in the City of Shasta Lake preserve the names & stories of the men who worked on Shasta Dam. They are/were of the "Greatest Generation"; the majority of them were WWII Veterans. Employment records were lost after the Dam was completed, so we compiled a list of Dam workers names as an addendum to our first book "Those Dam Kids", memories written by the Dam worker's children. We update the list with each reprint publication; Your father's name was not listed so I will add it. When I read your father's obituary, I felt compelled to contact you. Please email me if you would like to share any photos or stories with us. Shasta Dam tells the story of the magnificent Dam in our backyard; we tell the stories of the men who built it. We treasure their memories. Our website is www.shastalakehistorical.org so that you may see what we do to preserve history. My sincere condolences to your family for your loss, but what wonderful memories he has left for you...Darlene Brown/Shasta Lake Heritage & Historical Society
