MYRNA DEL FIORENTINO-VAUGHAN

1933-2016

Myrna Leone Del Fiorentino-Vaughan passed away on July 8, 2016, at 10:53 am at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville. After suffering a brain injury as a result of a fall in 2008, she was forced to retire at the of age 75. Shortly thereafter, Myrna was diagnosed with Alzheimers and battled it for seven years. She was 83 years old when she passed with her children by her side.

Myrna was born on February 18, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Gladys Viola and James Corbet Thomas. Her family moved to California when she was a young child. Myrna was the youngest of five children.

Myrna resided in Napa for 65 years where she and her husband Mike raised their four children. She was always known as a hardworking woman who at times, simultaneously, held three different jobs. She worked as a cosmetologist, where she owned the Village Beauty Shop for many years. She later co-owned Head Hunters Salon with her niece Judy Taylor.  Myrna also worked as a waitress at the Pancake House and later at the Muffin Tree restaurant in Fairfield. The final 28 years of her working career were spent between Butter Cream Bakery and the Queen of the Valley Hospital in the Central Supply Department.

In her free time, Myrna loved to play Bingo and enjoyed going to the casinos. Spending time with her family and friends brought her much joy and laughter. At her grandchildren’s sporting events, it was common to see Myrna cheering them on to victories. One of her favorite past times was putting together puzzles or playing Skip-bo with them as well. She also loved going to Southern California to visit family. Over the years, Myrna opened her home and her heart to several foster children.

Myrna Del Fiorentino Vaughan was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Mucchielli (Mike) Del Fiorentino, brother James M. Thomas, sisters Eulaine Tercovich and Gwendolyn I. Redfern, and grandson Michael Chad Harris.

Myrna is survived by her husband Frank James Vaughan, sister Doreen C. Allred, children Jody Marino, Daniel Del Fiorentino, Eulaine Dellagana, Trena Harris and foster daughter Kori James. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
