Victor Congi

March 1, 1956 ~ June 4, 2015 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Victor “Vic” Congi passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 after a 15 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Vic was born March 1, 1956 in McCloud, California. He was the eldest son of Vincent and Shirley Congi. Vic is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, and their children, Gina Congi of Union City, David and Alycia Galli of American Canyon, Brad and Jennifer (Galli) Hunter of Hollister, Tyler Congi of Fremont, Darren and Nicole (Galli) McCullough of Napa and Nicholas Galli of Napa; his granddaughters Cheyenne and Katy Hunter of Hollister and his brother Anthony (Tony) and sister-in-law Eileen Congi of Dunsmuir. Vic was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Throughout his children’s lives he helped out in any way he could. He coached girls youth soccer when he lived in Fremont and after moving to Napa in 1994, coached little league baseball teams along with being equipment manager. He helped at concession stands at the Napa High Spiritleaders dance competitions, drove the class of 2004 Homecoming float and the Spiritleaders in numerous Napa High School Homecoming Parades. He also volunteered twice a year for the past 22 years in his hometown of Dunsmuir, at the rigatoni dinner benefiting St. John’s Catholic Church.

In 1993 before moving to Napa, Vic purchased Carter Air Balance Company. Over the next 22 years he worked long days to provide for his family and build a legacy that Laurie and their son David now run. Vic knew that a man was only as good as his word, and he always lived up to his. He was a man that everyone knew they could count on no matter what.

A celebration of Vic’s life will be held at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers his family asks that you donate in his name to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
