John Lewis Azevedo

John Lewis Azevedo, born October 29, 1932 in Vallejo, California to John L. Azevedo and Elsie Azevedo, passed away April 8, 2015. John graduated from Vallejo High School in 1950 and then served four years in the U.S. Air Force. While stationed in London, England, John met his wife of 59 years, Shirley, who was also in the U.S. Air Force. After the Air Force he joined Vallejo Savings, then went on to Napa Savings and then later became Vice President of Ross Valley Savings and Loan. After leaving the banking business, he entered real estate sales in the Napa Valley.

John was a generous father and friend. John got a lot of joy in bringing boxes of candy to clerks, office workers and friends. John loved his monthly poker games at home for many years. He was an avid collector of many things, and when he was still able, enjoyed going to estate sales.

John is survived by his wife Shirley, sister Bernice Hendryks of Vallejo, children Michael Azevedo (Tracy), Linda McSweeney (Kevin), Toni Johnson and Julie Willis (Mike). He is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Stone (Scott), Amy Allen, Andrea Kearney (Sean), Corey Johnson (Cory), Jeffrey Willis and Kyle Holbrook. He also had four great-grandchildren, Shayden Holbrook, Bailey Stone, Sophie Stone and Riley Kearney.

At his request, there will be no formal services. We would like to thank Napa Valley Hospice and all his pals at Rite-Aid. In his memory, donations to Napa Valley Hospice, 414 So. Jefferson St., Napa, CA 94559 would be greatly appreciated.
