1936-2015

Gene Thompson, 78, died unexpectedly on May 7, 2015.  He was born July 30, 1936 in Platter, Oklahoma to William and Flora Thompson.  He served proudly in the United States Navy from 1954-1958.  Following his honorable discharge, he married the love of his life, Florence Rossback, in Napa on January 17, 1959.

Gene worked at Kaiser Steel and Cuddaback Nursery before starting his own landscaping business in 1976, which he operated until his retirement in 2005.

Gene is survived by wife, Florence Thompson; daughters, Denise Middling (husband Dale) and Sue Howze (husband Wade); son, Bill Thompson (wife Rhonda); 1 sister, 2 brothers, 6 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, and 3 step great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his parents, 1 brother and 6 sisters.

Military honors will be given at a graveside service, May 14, 2015 at 2pm in Tulocay Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.  Memories and words of sympathy may be shared on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
