Clarence Butch Miller

Clarence (Butch) Miller Jr. (70), of Napa went peacefully to heaven on February 4, 2016. Butch was born on September 10,1945 to Clarence Sr. and Roberta Miller (Wagoner) in Vallejo, CA.

In at very young age he was predeceased by his father, Clarence Sr. a Vallejo City Firefighter. His mother Roberta remarried Edgar Wagoner, US Army. They traveled around the world living in beautiful places including Alaska, Japan, Texas and San Diego.

In 1970, he joined the Vallejo Fire Department enjoying a 30 year career, receiving the Medal of Valor from his crew, before retiring in 2000. In 1975, he moved to Napa, met and married the love of his life, Bonnie Miller. In 1980, he and Bonnie began a 17 year foster parent journey changing the lives of many children along the way.

Butch had many interest including camping, fishing, hunting, snow and water skiing. He also enjoyed working on cars, construction but mostly he enjoyed helping others. Butch never met “a stranger”. Everyone instantly became family.

Butch was predeceased by his parents Clarence Sr. , Roberta Wagoner and Edgar Wagoner.

Butch is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonnie, his sister Gladys (Paul) Bollig, his children, Jayne Skwarecki, Robert (Desirae) Hamilton, DeDe (Craig) Lockett, Eric Miller, Tim Miller, Darius Bocage, Bobby Gutter, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His best friend, Steve Carter and his nephew, Frank (Amanda) Perino and niece, Ondriea Perino . As well as numerous extended family, friends and foster children.

Services will be on Monday, February 8, 2016, at 3pm at Hopewell Baptist Church on Linda Vista Ave., Napa.
