Yvette Rocha Obituary

Yvette Ringsmith Rocha passed away after a tough battle with cancer on April 13, 2018 at the age of 51. She was surrounded by her husband, daughter, son, mother, step-father, siblings and nieces.

Yvette was born on April 8, 1967 in Vallejo, California to Bruce Ringsmith and Cherie Rodrigo Solomon. From her simple beginnings on Jefferson Street full of bike riding and swimming with her sisters, brother and countless friends, to becoming a tennis star at Vintage High School (Class of 1985). Yvette left her mark on the 1970's and 80's with stories of laughter and just enough fun and mischief to make everything more interesting and memorable.  It is reported that she would walk for miles just for an Its-It.  She couldn't contain her need to sing and dance and often inspired others with far less impressive dance moves to the floor. Some of her favorite things included Fleetwood Mac, sweet peas, sky high flip flops, good candles, going for walks, concerts, reading and gardening. She was known for her simple vintage style, darling hats and her love and knowledge for Laura Ingalls Wilder. Yvette found joy in work beginning at Mustard's Grill, the Orchard garden department, the Napa State Hospital and finally at the Veteran's Home. But her most important and treasured role began when she met her best friend and the love of her life, Joe and became a mother to Hannah and Alex. Some of their favorite family past times were going camping, white water rafting, trips to the coast and family dinners outside. The devotion and adoration that Yvette shared with her beloved husband and children was evident even to strangers and was truly an unforgettable love story. However, it is presumed that Yvette's heart doubled in size when she became a grandmother, "Oma", to her grandsons, Jacob and Cody, both of whom she was truly captivated by and enamored with. She would always take them on walks to the park and would read them book after book. Later in life, Yvette became an avid outdoorswoman, from hiking at Skyline Park to the John Muir trail. She appreciated good food and wine and loved to take credit for her husband's culinary works. Quite simply, no smile was more infectious, no party was complete without her and it’s possible that no one loved and was as loved as she.  Yvette may always be remembered as the happiest life of the party but she would trade it all for a quiet afternoon outside with her people.

Yvette is survived in death by her dear husband Joe Rocha of Napa; daughter Hannah Moren (Jacob), son Alex and grandsons, Jacob and Cody, all of Oakhurst; mother and step-father, Jean and Cherie Solomon of Napa, father and step-mother, Bruce and Pat Ringsmith of White Bird, Idaho; sisters Colette Abernethy (Mike), Cory Morgan, and Heidi Ringsmith, brother Bruce Ringsmith; in addition to countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.

All are welcome to attend a memorial service in remembrance of Yvette to be held on Saturday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Tulocay Chapel, followed by a reception at 12:00 at the Tulocay Reception Hall.
