William (Bill) Clair Collins of Napa, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2025.
Bill was born on July 19, 1957 to Clair and Barbara Collins in Sioux City, Iowa. They moved to Napa when Bill was 2 years old and that became his permanent home.
He attended St. Apollinaris Catholic School and Justin High School, graduating in 1975.
He went to work in the grocery business for 36 years (Lucky, Albertsons, Gemco), before retiring.
Bill loved sports. He played for the Napa Valley Bears after graduation. He was a die hard Raiders fan, following them from Oakland, to LA, to Las Vegas. He traveled to many games and always had a good story to tell.
He also loved food. He watched all the cooking shows and loved trying out new recipes and BBQing.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Clair and Barbara and granddaughter Teagan Rae O’Hara.
He is survived by his wife Tammi of 34 years, daughter Heidi Nichols (Sandi), Carli O’Hara (Timmy), brother Jeff Collins (Leann), sister, Mary Glover, nephews Brett Collins (Caroline), Garrett Collins (Kat), Tom Glover (TK), and niece Katie Glover (Don), and the apple of his eye, grandson Teddy O’Hara.
Services will be held at Tulocay cemetery in Napa, CA on Tuesday, December 16 at 12:00 pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
