Virginia Claire Akins, nicknamed "Ginny", passed away at the age of 89, on February 28, 2025.
Virginia was born on July 9, 1935 to Dorothy Amelia Whyte and Samuel Whyte. She lived in Providence, Rhode Island until coming to California in 1945.
She majored in Art and Business, receiving an AA degree and began working at the Federal Reserve bank in San Francisco, CA.
Virginia married Jack Akins on March 9, 1958. She went on to work at Nemis Publishing and opened a business "Ginny's Graphic Designs" and worked at Red Hen Antiques.
Virginia and Jack had one child, Cheryl Akins, who predeceased her mother and father.
Ginny's interests were art, antiques, writing poetry, her dogs and birds.
She attended her local church for forty years and volunteered at the American Cancer Society shop.
