Vincent M. Accurso passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023, at home in Napa, surrounded by his loving family.
Vincent lived a good life, built on love of family, work, activities he enjoyed and shared memories with family and friends. Vincent was born on December 8, 1960, in Vallejo, CA. He was the third of four children born in five years to Anne and Angelo Accurso. He attended St. Vincent's Grammar School, St. Patrick's High School and Solano Community College. His greatest joy was marrying Jennifer Ann Miller, and his proudest moments were the births of his two sons, Vincent Angelo and Michael William. In the early 1990s Vince and Jen moved their family from Vallejo to Napa, where they supported their sons' schools and sporting activities. Years later he and Jen proudly attended their sons' college graduations and weddings and welcomed their daughters-in-law and grandchildren into the Accurso family.
Vince owned his construction company, V M Accurso, and enjoyed working as a general building contractor in Napa for 30 years. He was admired and respected by his colleagues and by his clients, many of whom became repeat clients and friends. One of his greatest accomplishments was building the family home that provided a wonderful gathering place for holidays and family celebrations. Vince's chosen profession allowed him the flexibility to take part in his lifelong pastimes of hunting and fishing. These activities were his haven, as he conducted both with the passion and intensity of a true perfectionist. He always made sure to provide his bounty to family and loved ones.
Vincent was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jennifer; and his father, Angelo. Remaining to cherish memories of their dad, father-in-law and "Gramps" are his sons and their families: Vincent and Erin and their children: Francesca and Alessandra (Alessia); and Michael and Waverly and their children: Angelo and Evelyn (Evy). Also remaining to cherish memories of Vincent are his mother, Anne; sisters: Carol and brother-in-law, Paul Dunlap; Adele and brother-in-law, Bobby Nishimori; and Louise Vicencio; the Miller family; in-laws: Cecilia and Jim Arnold, and Renee and Mike Morrison; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to many colleagues, clients and friends, Vince was fortunate to have lifelong friendships with Ron Tofanelli and Gary Barrett. In his later years he shared a special relationship with Lee Schwab.
Vincent was always known as the quiet one in the family but this may have been due more to growing up with three sisters and he not being able to get a word in edgewise. But when he spoke, his words showed his wisdom, thoughtfulness, strength and his wonderful sense of humor. He especially enjoyed attending year-round family gatherings and treasured his time spent with his precious grandchildren. Vince was and is much loved and his love will be with us always.
A private family service will be held in the fall.
