Tony Bill Santarelli passed away in Napa, CA on July 29, 2024. Tony was born on February 16, 1941, to Alice and Enrico Santarelli in Canyon City, Colorado. Tony attended El Cerrito High School where he met his wife, Kathleen Dodson.
Tony and Kathy were married in September of 1963 and went on to have two children, Susie, and Terri. Tony worked as a landscaper for the City of Richmond, the City of El Cerrito, and UC Berkley. Tony’s passion was building and maintaining athletic fields. Tony volunteered as a baseball coach at El Cerrito, Pinole Valley and Salesian High Schools. He also volunteered as a coach for CYO basketball at St. Joseph’s Elementary School and for Pony Baseball in Pinole.
In 2001, Tony retired and spent his time with his four grandchildren attending dance recitals and sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and volunteering at Borman Field in Yountville.
Tony was predeceased by his father, Enrico Santarelli, his mother, Alice Santarelli and his sister, Donna Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Santarelli, daughter Susie Bunting (Rob Bunting), daughter Terri Smith (Billy Smith) and his grandchildren Wyatt Bunting (Brooke Bunting), Kyle Bunting, Allison Smith, and Connor Smith. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, and in-laws from the Roberts and Dodson families.
Services and a reception will be held at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa, CA 94559 on Tuesday, August 20th at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Napa Valley Baseball Club, 1262 Pear Tree Lane, Napa, CA 94558.
