T. Rogene Templin, passed peacefully in her sleep on December 4, 2022, at 91. She was born in Hallam, NE, on November 27, 1931, to Stephen and Thelma Turpen. She is survived by her two sisters, Julia Conway Sword and Patricia Weise.
Rogene graduated from Mankato Senior High School in 1949. She then graduated from Graceland College in 1951, attended Gustavus Adolphus College on a Trumpet Scholarship in 1952, graduated with a BE from San Francisco State University in 1958, obtained her Master's Degree from the University of San Francisco in 1973, taught instrumental, and vocal and classroom music in the Napa Valley Unified School District for 40 years from 1956 to 1996. She Married James L. Templin in 1952. Then moved to Napa, CA, in 1955. They have two sons Scott (Helma) and Gregg (Tess), both of Napa; and one grandson, Baily Templin, the love of her life.
A lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she enjoyed reading, tennis, golf and running. She played with the Ladies 9 Hole group at Napa Valley Country Club for 33 years. Her husband James Templin predeceased in 2015. Her last few years were spent at Brookdale on Villa Lane and Stayman Estates on West Pueblo Avenue in Napa, CA.
A private family graveside service was held at Tulocay Cemetery on December 16, 2022.
