It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our unfailing rock and anchor, Steve Casalina.
Born in 1942 in Oakland, California, Steve grew-up in the Bay Area before later making his home in Napa in 1981.
He attended UC Berkeley during his college years, and later became a Software Developer by trade getting his start back in the early days of microfiche and mainframe computing. He worked for both the NCR company and Hewlett Packard before finally freelancing and becoming a solo developer.
A forty-six year friend of Bill Wilson, Steve so enthusiastically found meaning and purpose in mentoring many countless others in finding and achieving sobriety. Without a doubt this was his greatest passion in life.
He is survived by his wife Laurie Casalina, daughter Deborah O'Dell, granddaughter Megan O'Dell, mother Eula Casalina, sisters Jean Kelley and Anita Casalina and niece and nephew Charlene and Evan Eldon. He was loved and admired by many and though greatly missed will live on in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life with Pastor Mike Ray officiating will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church in Napa on Friday, February 7th at 11:00 AM with internment to follow at Tulocay Cemetery.
