It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Stephen Jeffrey Taylor, beloved husband,
father, chiropractor, and friend. Born and raised in the Napa Valley, where he served his community for
56 years as a compassionate and dedicated Doctor of Chiropractic. He passed peacefully of natural
causes on November 25 th at home with his family.
Jeff was born on August 24, 1946, to Don and Betty Taylor in St. Helena, California. He graduated from
Rio Lindo Academy in 1964, then pursued his lifelong career graduating from Palmer College of
Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1969. He returned to the Napa Valley to open his chiropractic clinic in
the early 70’s while starting a family and forging lifelong relationships as president of the Napa Active
20-30 club.
Jeff was known for his warm heart, kind spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he cared about. He
was a man who found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was casting a line into the
waters of Bodega Bay, teeing off on his favorite golf course, or offering his healing touch to those in
need. His role as a chiropractor truly defined him, touching the lives of countless people
in his community throughout the years. His commitment to his patients was unparalleled and they
considered him not just a healthcare provider, but a friend and confidant. His legacy of service,
compassion, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him in the Napa Valley.
Jeff was a loving husband to Judy Taylor, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Together, they built a beautiful life, raising four children who continue to honor his memory. He
was a proud father to David and Allison Taylor, and Josh and Lindsay Rothman as well as a God
Father to Sara Potgeter. He was able to have time with each member of his family and a few close
friends prior to his passing peacefully at home.
In addition to his family, Jeff will be missed by his chocolate lab, Gabby, who was his constant
companion.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Judy; their children, David (Kristy), Josh, Allison and Lindsay; and his
cherished dog, Gabby. He is predeceased by his parent Donald and Betty Taylor and his brother Ben
Taylor. He leaves behind three grandchildren James Archer (Kailynn), Lily Archer, Scarlett Taylor, great
granddaughter Kinsley, his brother James Taylor (Cheryl), Don Taylor (Linda); brother-in-law Tom
Carpenter (Jenine), sister-in-law Brenda Phillips (Richard); and many nieces and nephews.
A public service will be held in honor of his memory, followed by a celebration of his life
on December 20th, 2024 at 11AM Tulocay Cemetery in Napa California. The service will be held in the
chapel and a reception to follow on site. The address for Tulocay is 411 Coombsville Rd, Napa CA 94558.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate
to know him. May he rest in peace.
