Sharyn Meyer Fuller Obituary

Sharyn Ann Meyer Fuller, known to many as Shahreena, passed away peacefully in her home on February 22, 2025, at the age of 82. Born to Wesley and Eleanor Meyer on June 2, 1942, in Napa, California, Sharyn lived a life full of creativity, resilience, and generosity.

A proud, nearly lifelong, Napa native, Sharyn's family moved to the M Ranch in Carneros when she was a teen - a place that remained close to her heart. After her graduation from Napa High School in 1960, she had the honor of traveling to Rome, where her synchronized swimming team promoted their sport during the Olympic Games. She attended Colorado Women's College and earned her degree from San Francisco State University.

Sharyn married Ian Fuller at the M Ranch and they traveled to Europe for an extended honeymoon, living in a VW Van during their travels. Thus began a life-long tradition of adventuring in VWs. Sharyn and Ian's daughter, Heather Rae, completed their family. Although later divorced, they remained friends until Sharyn's death.

Known for her artistry and grace as a belly dancer, Shahreena performed and taught for over 50 years. Many Napans had the pleasure of taking her classes, as well as watching her perform at a local middle eastern restaurant, and at retirement, bachelor, bachelorette and birthday parties.

A certified Master Gardener, Sharyn had the greenest of green thumbs, cultivating stunning gardens that reflected her artistic eye and were truly living works of art. For several years she taught workshops and worked with clients through her Working Woman's Garden business, helping others create their own beautiful gardens.

Coming from a family of jewelers, Sharyn carried forward the legacy of her grandfather, Isadore Meyer, who founded Meyers Jewelers in 1910. After the death of her father, Wesley Meyer, Sharyn ran the business until its closure. She was honored to have been a part of so many milestones in the Napa community through customers' jewelry purchases.

Sharyn was the embodiment of resilience. After losing her beloved home and gardens in the devastating Atlas Fire, she rebuilt her life in the wonderful Stonecrest neighborhood. She created a new sanctuary, once again filling it with vibrant gardens and eclectic art.

Loving to find a good deal, Sharyn couldn't pass up a garage sale or thrift store. She hated to cook, had a slight obsession with finding the perfect vacuum cleaner, adored her cat, Honey Girl, and was a Hallmark movie junkie, watching movies weekly. She also loved "America's Got Talent" and Natalie arranged her for her to attend a live taping last fall, a highlight of her year.

Meditation and her cancer support groups became important parts of her life, offering her peace and strength throughout her six-year journey living with T-cell Lymphoma - a diagnosis that never dimmed her spark.

Sharyn's greatest joy was her family. She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and it was a special blessing for the three of them to be together during her last week.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Fuller Teague, her son-in-law Steve, and her cherished grandchildren, Natalie and Carson. She also leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Cathy Meyer; her sister, Barbara Meyer; and her nieces, nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Her family gives thanks to her wonderful helper, Tammy, whose love and care was a gift to us all.

A celebration of Sharyn's life will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 10:00 am at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1455 Elm Street, Napa. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in her memory to Share the Care or The Meyer Fuller Teague Family Fund in care of the Napa Valley Community Foundation. Make checks payable to NVCF and write "MFT fund" in the memo line.

To know Sharyn was to witness a life lived fully, and on her terms, right up to her last days. We miss her greatly.
