Salvador (Sal, Sonny) Alarcon passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on June 24, 2022. Sal was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on April 7, 1937 to Eduardo and Eloisa Alarcon. He was 85 years old. Sal is survived by his wife of 66 years Delores, his daughters Deborah (David) Miranda and Desiree (Phil) Brun, his granddaughter Natalia (Anup) Vasudev and grandson Steven (Ana) Alarcon, and great grandson Anish Vasudev. He is also survived by his siblings Rudy, Reuben, Tony, Lupe and Rosie, aunts and numerous nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his son Steven, his grandson Dominic Miranda and his brothers Alex and Moy.
Sal served proudly in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard prior to beginning his lifelong career as an automotive mechanic. He moved to Napa from the Bay Area in 1971 with his family. Over the years he owned and operated several service stations. He also taught Basic Automotive Repair classes in Spanish and English for the Napa Valley College, retiring after 30 years.
