Obituary
Rodney Wayne Kirkland passed away peacefully in his home on August 19, 2023. He was 86.
He was born on June 13, 1937, in Kingsbury County, SD. He lived there until he was nine and then moved to Florida. After his graduation he moved to CA, and started his family. In 1967, he was able to live his passion for art through his business, the Napa Sign Shop. Working for 35 years crafting signs around the valley.
Rod loved his family, fishing, hosting friends for bbq's (which always included his beef jerky), El Caminos, and golf! He had a deep love of God and his church community. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nina Kirkland. Rod is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy and his five children: Lori (Allen) Cleveland of GA, Sherri (Dale) Swift of AZ, Craig Kirkland of Santa Rosa, Sara (Erik) Olson of Napa, Isaac Kirkland of Napa; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Sheri Harwood; and brother, Jim Kirkland both of ID; several nieces and nephews.
Please celebrate his life with us on September 23, 2023, at First Christian Church, 2659 1st St, Napa. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the service will start at 1:00 p.m.
