With profound sadness, our family announces that Roberta "Betty" Nicholson passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on July 29, 2020, in Fairfield, CA.
Betty was born in Calbayog City Samar, Philippines on April 19, 1920, the second eldest of five siblings of Otto Lauser and Perpetua Demaquiling. She married the love of her life, Jack NIcholson, a career Air Force NCO, and with their four children traveled all over the world. After retirement from the military in 1966, they settled in Napa where Jack owned an automotive repair business for many years while Betty was active with the Carmelites of the Catholic church. They finally retired the second time and moved to Fairfield in 1996 and has lived there since.
Betty is survived by her loving son Benjamin Nicholson, daughter Jeanette Nicholson, and sister-in-law Juanita Gerl; grand children Suzanne, Kyle, Tony and Michelle Nicholson, and Mardell Uhl; great grand children Victoria, Drayton, Keely Nicholson, Nolan Webster, Derrick, Alexis, Jayden and Jax Uhl, including numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jack Nicholson, sons Richard and James Nicholson and grand daughter Brenda Nicholson.
Betty's final resting place will be at the Nicholson family burial plot in Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Rd. Napa, CA. Due to the current acute danger Covid-19 poses, family and friends are invited only to the outdoors Memorial Mass on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at Tulocay. No reception will be held after the service. Thank you for your kind prayers, thoughts and understanding.
