Robert Bruce Longaker

Robert Bruce Longaker, age 76, died peacefully in his sleep on January 26, 2025 in his home in Napa, CA surrounded by loved ones.

Robert Longaker was born on January 30, 1948 in Hedrick, IA to parents Weldon Longaker and Florence Leatherby. He graduated from Hedrick Consolidated High School and joined the US Army during the Vietnam war. Robert married Linda Fish September 5, 1970 and settled in Napa, Ca where they raised their two daughters. Robert was a mechanic for Volkswagen in Albany, CA for 30 years. He owned his own business, Bob's Custom Upholstery.

Robert Longaker is survived by his daughter Tonya Gonzalez(Edwin) of Napa, CA;his daughter Marcena Walther(Christopher) of Elk Grove,CA; his nephew Paul Longaker(Becky) of Agency,IA; and his grandchildren Graycen Wangeman(Mark), Briella Gonzalez of Napa, CA and his grandchildren Savannah Walther, Calleigh Walther of Elk Grove, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Florence Longaker of Hedrick, IA; His sisters Cheryl and Joyce Longaker; and his wife Linda Longaker.

Robert(Bob) was so proud to be from Iowa. He loved to reminisce about all his mischievous small town fun he used to have. His favorite restaurant was the Canteen known for their loose meat burgers and he enjoyed attending the town ice cream social. Bob would enjoy driving his family back to Iowa in “ Old Blue” for summer vacations. The family often camped along the way while visiting different states. Bob was a hardworking guy. He worked in his Upholstery shop by day and at Volkswagen in Albany by night. When Bob wasn’t working he enjoyed tinkering on classic cars, watching Nascar races and attending swap meets with his friends. Bob had quite a sense of humor and loved telling jokes. Bob will be missed by his family and friends.

The family invites all those who cherished Robert to join them in a ceremony of remembrance on February 21st at 11am, Located at The Tulocay chapel, 411 Coombsville Rd, Ca, 94558. There will be a reception to follow at Tulocay.
