Richard Voss

Richard Voss passed away peacefully on August 8, 2021 in Napa at the age of 88.  Richard was born in San Francisco and grew up in Sacramento, with a couple years in Truckee. In 1958 he met and married his beautiful wife Lue.  They settled in Mountain View where they raised their two children Rick and Lisa. 

Richard worked in the aerospace industry as an aeronautical engineer.  He traveled the globe working on communication satellites. Richard was an avid snow skier and was always the last skier off the hill when the lifts closed.  He was very handy with the tool box and was able to fix anything.  He also spent many hours working on all our cars.

In 2002 Lue and Richard moved to Napa to be closer to their children and grandchildren.  He often picked up grandsons Bryan and Cody from school and took them out for afternoon treats.  Richard was happy when his third grandchild Gabriel was born.  Gabriel loved his Papa.

Richard and Lue attended St. Appolinaris Church. He is survived by his son Rick Voss and daughter-in-law Lucy, and daughter Lisa Clark and son-in-law Greg, as well as 3 grandsons Gabriel, Bryan, and Cody.  Richard was preceded in death by his wife Lue who passed away in 2019.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 30th @ 10:00 am at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa with a reception to follow onsite.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Collabria Hospice – 414 South Jefferson Street, Napa, CA 94559.
