Richard Dale Carriker

Richard Dale Carriker was born on July 22nd, 1946 to Virgil and Mildred Carriker in Berkeley, CA. He graduated from Hogan High School in Vallejo,CA in 1965.

Upon moving to Napa in 1969, Dale worked as an electrician for 10 years out of Local 180. In 1976, Dale and Dan Brown purchased Harbison Appliance. Dan retired in 2002. Dale continued with the Harbison name until he retired in January 2012, after 36 years in the business. He was all about customer service, and if he didn’t remember your name, he surely remembered the appliance that you purchased!

In 2005, Dale met Lynn Nichols, the love of his life, and they were married in January 2009 in Maui, Hawaii. Dale and Lynn enjoyed travelling, especially to Maui.

He loved cars, especially loved taking road trips in his Corvette, and enjoyed skiing.

Dale was a perfectionist and after his retirement, he and Lynn thoroughly enjoyed working and remodeling their home.

A member of the noon time Rotary Club since 1993, of which he was President in 2014-2015, Dale worked tirelessly on their many projects and cherished his life-long Rotary friends.

Dale will be greatly missed for his friendly smile, sense of humor and his willingness to always help a friend in need.

Dale was predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Virgil and by his brothers, Ed Carriker and Clark Carriker. He is survived by his wife, Lynn, his sons Troy (Liz ) Carriker Todd (Elizabeth) Carriker, stepson Aaron (Cheri) Nichols, Grandchildren Ella Carriker, Collier and Campbell Carriker, and Olivia Nichols.

A celebration of life will be held at Tulocay Mortuary on October 14 th at 11:00 AM.
