Born to Ralph Andino Jr. and Shirley Towey Andino in 1970, he considered Napa Valley and the Bay Area to be his home. He was the oldest of 4 children and felt strongly about his ties to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and School in Fairfield. On September 26, 2024, Ralph (Andy), who was a local attorney, died in a tragic shooting on Lincoln Avenue in Napa while delivering a message to a client about her case. This was fitting with his character as he often went the extra mile to help his family, friends, clients and the American Canyon community where he lived.
He returned to California after passing the bar exam in 2004. He and his wife Jodi Ann (Zukasky) Andino married in 2004 and he chose to be a father to their son Justin Anthony Andino in a public way through adoption later that year. In 2005, their daughter Jaime Angela died at a month old and the family came to Napa Valley to begin a new chapter. In 2006, a second son James Anthony Andino was born at Queen of the Valley Medical Center (just like his dad). In 2010, the family moved to American Canyon and Ralph (Andy) began his law office in the small city. He was a consistent supporter of Holy Family Catholic Church in American Canyon where his boys completed their faith formation. He took pride in working to build a permanent structure for the church community.
Ralph (Andy) attended high school at Immaculata High School in Somerville NJ where he and his wife first met. He went on to Rutgers University in New Brunswick NJ, NYU for his Masters degree and Widener University Law School in Delaware earning a Juris Doctorate. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul W. Armstrong in Somerset County NJ. He worked as a public defender and performed other legal tasks for a firm in Morristown NJ. He started his CA legal career at Favarro Lavezzo in Vallejo.
He was a service oriented individual with affiliations and connections to many community organizations. He was active with American Canyon Little League, AC Chamber of Commerce, AC Kiwanis, Holy Family Catholic Church, Boys and Girls Club, AC Boy Scouts of America, ACHS Go Pack, and more. He donated to many charities and events and never wanted to be acknowledged or named. He wanted to "win the lottery" so we could own land for more dog rescues and contribute to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Ronald Mc Donald House. If you feel led to make a donation in his name, these were things he was passionate about. He was a practical person who would prefer money to be used to help others.
Ralph (Andy) was a passionate collector of sports memorabilia, especially for Bay Area teams. He took care in displaying it and in taking his sons to meet players to get their signatures. It was a labor of love for him. He loved seeing movies in the theater with his family. He also loved taking his kids to see musicals in San Francisco. Ralph (Andy) enjoyed a great day at the ballpark with his boys and with friends. He also liked swimming and road trips. He enjoyed jazz music and 80's music. He was an avid reader and always had 3 books he was reading at any given time. The bookstore was a favorite field trip for our family. He loved raising bulldogs and his French bulldog Milo has been lost without him.
Ralph (Andy) was predeceased in death by his daughter (Jaime Angela), dad (Ralph Jr)., sister (Corinne), grandparents: [James & Marion Towey, Ralph & Hilda Andino] and beloved aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife (Jodi) and sons [Justin and Jimmy (James)]. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his mother (Shirley), sister (Mindy), brother (Scott), and beloved nieces, nephews, godsons and cousins.
Services will be held in November at Holy Family Catholic Church and at Shenandoah Park in American Canyon. He will be laid to rest at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa.
