Phyllis Marie Tidwell, 85, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on December 1, 2025. A devoted follower of God, Phyllis was at peace with the Lord as she entered her eternal rest.
Born on February 14, 1940, in Middletown, Ohio, Phyllis was the daughter of Shelby and Hollie Sparks. She grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma, attended Deer Creek High School, and married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Tidwell, in 1958. In 1964, they moved to Napa, California, where they built their life and raised their family.
Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother who cherished time spent with her loved ones. She had a spirited personality and a love for celebrating life—especially her birthdays, which she joyfully dressed up for each year. She enjoyed shopping, bingo, reading the newspaper, and playing her scratch-off tickets. Above all, those who knew Phyllis will remember her generosity, kindness, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. She had a truly big heart and was always willing to give.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters: Corena Calderon of American Canyon, CA; Mary Morgan and her husband of Red Bluff, CA; and Cheryl McCormick and her husband of Corning, CA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Rita Dougherty, James McCormick, Tyler McCormick, Sandra Calderon, Eric Calderon, Kara Francis, Caitlyn Bailey, and Kylee Gould; as well as her great-grandchildren: Jacob Calderon, Allison Calderon, Ella Calderon, and Quinn Dougherty, with another great-grandchild, Kynzlee Gould, arriving soon.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved dachshund, Rowdy, who faithfully stayed by her side until her final day.
Phyllis’ kindness, laughter, faith, and love for life will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
