Patty Jean Peterson Born August 6, 1933 Died May 16, 2023. Better known as Pat by friends and Family.
Pat was born in Lebanon, Kansas and grew up in Stockton, California where she met and married Clifford
E. Peterson in 1950, shortly thereafter they moved to Napa, they were married for 56 years at the time
of Cliff’s passing. Pat was also pre-diseased by daughter Debbie Peterson White, her mom and Dad,
Lawrence and Hazel Ray, Sister and best friend Sonia Ray Durham, Brother Wilson Ray, sister Bonnie Ray
Jesus. She is survived by daughter Sonia Wertz (son-in-law Dan) of Napa and son Clifford W. Peterson
(daughter-in-law Mary) of Oregon, and Brother Fred Ray and Joyce (special sister-in-law). Grand Children Brenna Morris
(GSIL Nick), Josh Peterson (GDIL Britany) and Brittany Peterson. Great Grand Kids, Ashton, Ryder, Nayeli, Brailey,
Gunnar and Dallas as well as many Nieces and Nephews.
Pat was one of the Cafeteria Ladies for Napa Unified School District and managed the cafeteria at
Silverado Jr. High for approximately 23 years, until her retirement in 1992. An avid gardener, many
friends and family were treated with the bounty from her garden and trees in the form of homemade
baked goods and canned goods, she won many awards at the Napa Fair. When asked to bring
something to a dinner or event, she was always asked for one of her famous homemade pies.
Pat was a member of Alta Heights PTA and was president several years, she received a lifetime
membership in the PTA for her work at the school. She was a cub scout den mother in the 60’s and had
the scouts right letters and send cookies and candy to soldiers in Vietnam, there are letters of thanks
from some of the soldiers in her keepsakes.
The family always spent a lot of time camping, their favorite place to go was Pipi Valley, first at the
campground then on their private property with friends and family. Pat was a superb camp cook.
After retirement Pat spent a lot of time traveling and cruising, Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, Caribbean and
traveling through the USA. Her favorite trip though was 3 weeks spent in Australia with friend Thelma.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and dining out with friends. Pat volunteered at the American Cancer Society
Discovery shop for many years, a place close to her heart as daughter Debbie had passed away from
cancer at an early age. Pat received a volunteer award for her work from the American Cancer Society
while undergoing cancer treatment herself.
Pat passed away from a sudden massive stroke and will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be
held on Pat’s Birthday weekend, August 5th at Silverado Pines Mobile Home Park. For information,
