Patricia McDill Obituary

It is with great sadness that the McDill family announce the passing of our beloved Mother Patricia Ann McDill, from complications of pneumonia.

Mom was born on August 19th 1928, to Roland and Florence (Juarez) Atwood.

She was a 4th generation Californian, and the Great Great Granddaughter of Cayetano Juarez.

Mom graduated from Vallejo High School in 1946, was an active member of the Alumni and was one of the last surviving members of her class. Mom was also a Rainbow Girl, and a member of Eastern Star, Silver Spray 59. B

Mom married the love of her life, Lawerence McDill, on February 5th 1949.

In March of 1950, they welcomed their first child Robert Patrick, Daughter Nancy Elizabeth in May of 1952, and their third child, son Ronald Edward in December of 1954.

In the summer of 1955 the family moved from Vallejo to Napa, where Dad started his career with the City of Napa, and Mom working for the State of California, Rehabilitation department.

Mom and Dad both retired in 1984, and began their life of leisure, traveling the United States in their Motorhome. They planned and made trips to the Caribbean, cruising thru the Panama Canal, going to Hawaii and just enjoying the life that they shared.

Golf was a big part of their lives, and they shared many trips with the SIRS playing all around the western US.

After the passing of her husband in 1999, Mom took over the lead in the family and no matter what the circumstances were, she always said "How can I help"?

And help she did. This left a lasting impression on her children, her unselfish devotion to family.

Over the years Mom occupied her time, playing golf with the ladies club at Kennedy Park, playing Bridge at the Senior Center in Benicia, and in a small social group here in Napa. We always had a Jigsaw puzzle working, and she would work the puzzle while watching her "Soaps" ..

As the years went by, the things that she loved to do were slowly being taken away, no longer able to play golf, but she was always ready to ride along with us, just enjoying the day with her family. Bridge was still an outlet, but that too, came to an end when it just became to much for her to endure.

Mom was preceded in Death by her parents, sisters Doris, and Barbara, and her loving and devoted husband, Larry.

She is survived by her Sister-in Law Patsy Cook, Children, Bob ( Vickie) , Nancy Gallardo, and son Ron( fiancé Karen) Seven Grandsons, Josh and Jim McDill, John (Ingrid) and Micheal Gallardo, Bryce McDill (Anne-Marie), Henry Wien, and Jackson McDill. Great grandchildren, Christopher and Natalie Gallardo, and Madison McDill. Niece Terry Lerseth, who was a great joy to Mom, and who now assumes the responsibility of family Matriarch, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Services will be held at Tulocay, Thursday Feb 27th. Mom's favorite color is purple. If you'd like to wear something purple in her honor, please feel free to do so.

In the hands of the LORD forever
