Nancy Heun Obituary

Our beloved Nancy Ann Heun left this world in the three o'clock hour of January 23, 2025, we are grateful for God's Divine Mercy hearing our prayers. She was at peace in her home, comforted by her four sons and immediate family, as her time here on Earth waned. She carried the burden of the loss of her best friend and husband, Dr. Richard Heun, nearly 19 years ago with dignity and strength. She is reunited with her husband and family, and we are grateful for the joy of this spiritual reunion. We will miss her, yet we all have a bit of her with us for eternity.

Nancy Ann Martin was born in Fort Dodge, IA on September 17, 1936. She married Richard Joseph Heun in 1957; the newlyweds moved west in 1962 after purchasing a home and office at 2000 Jefferson St. in Napa, CA. Over many years, Nancy helped her husband build his practice and supported him in all his efforts. They were constant companions in life.

Nancy and Richard had four sons, Scott, Todd, Steven, and David; her husband and children were the focus of her life. As her boys grew and connected with others, she welcomed them into the family, often providing her unique, stoic, and wise guidance. Nancy was honest and kind, direct and loving. Never dramatic, instead quietly strong and supportive. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. To her last breath, she continued to mother her children, grandchildren, her daughters gained in marriage, and many others she called her "fifth sons." Her wisdom and guidance will be sorely missed by all who were graced with by it. However, her legacy continues.

Nancy is lovingly remembered by her sons: Scott (Janet), Todd (Anette), Steven (Erica), and David (Jennifer); her cherished grandchildren: Janae (Phil), Krista (David), Macie (Antonio), Greta (Curtis), Claire, Andrew, Emma (Zak), Matthew, Hanna, Mary, Michael, Jacob, Augustine, and Abigail; and her adored great-grandchildren: Erik, Mark, Dylan, Boden, Blake, Sawyer, Hudson, Nash, and Sofia. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and sister in life, Sandra O'Tool, as well as her niece and nephew, Tammy Boeckman and Tim O'Tool (Travis).

A funeral service will be held at Tulocay Cemetery Funeral Home in Napa on Tuesday, February 18. The service will begin at noon in the chapel, followed by a luncheon in the reception center. A private burial will be held for the family.
