Marie June Tarap

Marie June Tarap (Scaduto) 60, lifelong Napa resident, passed away on January 18th, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Fellowship, Tuesday January 28 at 11am. Followed by a celebration of life at MadoroM Winery at 1pm.

Marie was born on March 14, 1964 to Michael and June (Duke) Scaduto in San Francisco, California and was the youngest of five siblings. Growing up in Napa she developed a love for all things country life. Marie loved cows, chickens, dogs and carried this love throughout her life. She graduated from Vintage High School and was an avid swimmer at Napa Valley Swim Club. Her passion for swimming was passed on to those she loved. 

Marie was the proud mother of four beautiful children: Pauly, Ben, Raney, and Tommy. Her kids were the light of her life. Marie was found at every sporting activity, 4-H meeting, and fair event just to name a few. She loved her nieces and nephews and was involved in their daily lives. Friday night pizza nights, crab cioppino at Christmas, monthly family birthday parties, poker nights, family game nights were the highlights of Marie’s days. Marie was most proud of her loud Italian family.

In 2012 Marie took on the brand new title of Grandma, a title she held proud until her last breath. Marie was the first to take out her phone to show a picture of Tyson, Brayden, Paisley, Emmalyn, Carson and Lincoln. Highlights of every year included trips to North and South Dakota to spoil her grandkids and hide 500 miniature ducks and frogs all over their houses. Marie took pride in knowing every detail of every one of her grandchildren’s lives. From their sporting events to their latest hunting/fishing adventures to their tests at school and upcoming extracurricular activities. Marie could be found reading books to her grandkids, both at home and in their school classrooms, where she delighted in sharing stories with the kids.

She left such an impact on every person she came into contact with and because of that there are many stories and memories that will be passed down from generation to generation. Her infectious personality has left a lasting impression on those who were lucky enough to know her. 

She is survived by her three sons Pauly (Brandy), Ben (Megan) and Tommy, her six grandchildren Tyson, Brayden, Paisley, Emmalyn, Carson and Lincoln, her siblings Michele, Lorraine (Britt) and Michael (Jayne) and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her daughter Raney, her parents Michael and June Scaduto and brother Russell.
