Obituary

Margaret Anna Olivieri was born in Napa, CA on October 27th, 1943 to Richard Ottavio Olivieri and Guistina Teresa Olivieri (Mora). Margaret passed away peacefully in her home on August 5th, 2023 at the age of 79. She is survived by her siblings John Olivieri (wife, Micki), Rosalie Griffith (husband, Bill) and Michael Olivieri. Nieces Margaret Schloezer (husband, Jason) and Michelle Goleno (partner, Ernie Acosta). Nephews Jason Griffith (partner, Sara Stone), Rocky Griffith (wife, Michelle), Doug Ellis, Glenn Spears, and Ernesto Olivieri. Great nieces Courtney Schloezer (fiancé, Dylan Church), Elizabeth Schloezer, Angelina Goleno, Avianna Goleno, Destini Griffith, Alexis Griffith, Mia Griffith, Desiree Griffith, Isabella Griffith, and Layloni Griffith (fiancé, Christopher Duarte-Ramirez). Great nephews Antonio Goleno, Giovanni Acosta, Rocky Griffith Jr, and Maverick Griffith. Great grand nieces Charlotte Church, Savannah Church, and Kehlani Duarte-Ramirez.

Margaret attended all levels of education in Napa, starting at St. John's Catholic and finishing at Napa High School, graduating in 1961. Later, she attended Napa Valley College (NVC) where she received an associates degree in Early Childhood Education in 1964. Margaret owned and taught at a private preschool, Educare, for 20 years before retiring in the early '90s. Margaret also studied art at NVC and was a gifted artist and crafter, taking up pottery, porcelain painting, watercolors, framing, and card making.

Margaret was very active in the Napa community. She was a Charter Member of the Sons of Italy where she served as the Napa chapter President and as an Officer. She was a member of the Napa Women's Club where she served as President for 2 years. She was also a member of the Circolo Trentino di San Francisco.

In her free time, Margaret enjoyed going to happy hour with her friends, taking her dog, Missy, to the dog park and gardening in her yard. She loved socializing and making new friends and telling stories to all that she met. She loved her Italian heritage and thus her favorite place to travel was Italy, where she would spend time visiting family and seeing the sites. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, quick whit and general love for her family and animals.

Margarets funeral will be held at Tulocay cemetery on August 24th at 12:30pm, a reception will follow from 1:30-4:30pm. Her artwork and prints will be for sale, the proceeds of which will go to charity in her honor. A memorial mass will be held on September 2nd at 2pm, at St. John's the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.
