Linda J. Leonard passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024, in Napa, CA. She reunited with her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Leonard. Linda died at the home they shared throughout their 36 year marriage.
Linda was born on July 12, 1941 in San Francisco, CA and raised in Berkeley, CA. She was chosen by her parents Alonzo and Lois Murray. Linda was a graduate of Berkeley High School class of 1959. Also, Linda earned an AA degree from De Anza Community College. Linda began her career working as an administrative assistant for San Jose Mercury News. Then she worked as an administrative assistant in the Plant Engineering Department of Ford Motor Co. in Milpitas, CA. Upon moving to Napa, Linda was a wine educator for 23 years at Robert Mondavi Winery.
While working for Ford Motor Co. Linda met the love of her life Bob Leonard. They married on August 16, 1975. Linda is survived by her daughter Kimberli K. Thompson (Achille Bigliardi). Linda was predeceased by her husband Bob.
Linda was very active in community affairs serving on the Napa County Grand Jury 2013-2014, And she was a commissioner for the City of Napa Senior Advisory Commission. Also, Linda was a dedicated volunteer at Community Projects (CP) for 34 Years. During her tenure at CP Linda served on many different committees, worked in different departments, and was Board President from 2008-2009. She always served with a smile!
Linda will always be remembered by her family and friends for her love of others, her loyalty, and her never ending sense of humor. Linda will be greatly missed, but certainly not forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Linda on Monday, August 19, 2024, 11:00 AM, Tulocay Cemetery Funeral Home in Napa, CA. Reception to follow in the Tulocay Reception Center.
In Linda’s memory, in lieu of flowers, please donate to Community Projects, Collabria Care, Canine Companions for Independence, Napa Valley Community Foundation, or Queen of the Valley Foundation to be applied toward the Providence St. Joseph Home Care Network (specifically applied toward home healthcare programs), or a charity of your choice.
