Lilia Newlan Obituary

Lilia Newlan, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, sister,
aunt, cousin, and friend, peacefully passed away at home on October 20, 2024,
at the age of 68, surrounded by her family and her beloved dog, Bo.

Lilia was born on August 23, 1956, in Sinaloa, Mexico, to Teresa and Lorenzo
Montoya, and she was the fifth of seven children. When she was eight years
old, Lilia and her mother moved to Pleasant Hill, California, with her siblings.
She later became a mother to her son, Steve, and her daughter, Leslie, before
moving to Napa, where she spent nearly 30 years working at V. Sattui Winery.
Lilia took great pride in her job and was known for her dedication, never
missing a day or calling out sick. She loved meeting new people from around
the world and made many lifelong friends at the winery.

In 1998, Lilia met Dan, and they fell in love. They got married in 2002. Family
was everything to Lilia, and she cherished the time spent with her
grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a strong, vibrant, and loving
person with a heart of gold, a bright smile, and a spirit that touched everyone
who knew her.

Lilia is survived by her husband, Dan; her son, Steve; her daughter, Leslie; and
her grandchildren, Kristina, Summer, Haley, and Austin. She is also survived by
her siblings, Lorenzo, Lucy, Delphina, Lupe, Lourdes, and Mario, along with
many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her dog, Bo.

A service to honor her memory will take place at Tulocay Cemetery and
Funeral Home on November 22, 2024, at 11 AM. Family and friends are
invited to gather at 10:30 AM for a short graveside service. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
