In Loving Memory of Kevin Lester Davis
March 16, 1958 – April 21, 2026
Kevin Lester Davis, born March 16, 1958, in Napa, California, to Norman and June Davis, passed away on April 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, music, and family traditions that will echo for generations.
Kevin was a spirited and rambunctious young man whose early love for sports and music shaped the rhythm of his life. Through his school years, he could often be found on a field or immersed in music, passions that stayed with him every step of the way.
In high school, Kevin discovered one of the great loves of his life when he joined the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. His time marching with the corps left a lasting imprint on his heart. Even after aging out, his devotion never faded, and he remained a loyal supporter and fan throughout his life. From Blue Devils came an opportunity from Bill Gantt that would become a true legacy. For over 30 years Kevin was the drill designer and marching instructor for Vintage High School. His passion for music turned into teaching and helping young adults for decades.
Kevin’s proudest role was being a father. He welcomed his daughters, Carin in 1980 and Emily in 1982, and from that moment on, they were his world. He poured his heart into supporting them, especially during their years in marching band at Vintage High School. From late-night rehearsals to long competition days and unforgettable out-of-state trips, those moments were among his most treasured.
Family was the cornerstone of Kevin’s life. He cherished the annual family camping trips to Fallen Leaf Lake Campground, a tradition filled with laughter, stories, and connection that will proudly continue in his honor. He also loved time spent at Doran Beach, crabbing and fishing off the jetty, creating memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who shared them.
In later years, Kevin expanded his love of the water, turning his passion for snorkeling into scuba diving. He embraced every opportunity to explore beneath the surface, finding peace and wonder in the world below.
Kevin is survived by his loving mother, June Davis of Napa; his sister, Karen O’Neill of Napa; and his brother, Ken Davis of Middletown. He is also survived by his daughters, Carin Jackson and her husband Patrick of Bend, Oregon, and Emily Scroggins and her husband Cole of Mariposa, California.
His greatest joy came in being “Grandpa” to his three beloved grandchildren: Paige Jackson, Lillian Scroggins, and Bryce Scroggins. They became his everything. He cheered them on in all their endeavors, listened closely to their stories, and offered encouragement, advice, and endless love. Camping trips and family vacations with them will remain cherished memories.
Kevin also held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews, loving each of them deeply and taking pride in being part of their lives.
Kevin’s life was like a favorite song—full of energy, heart, and moments that stay with you long after the music fades. His legacy lives on in the traditions he built, the love he gave, and the family who will carry his spirit forward.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Rd., Napa, CA. Reception to follow.
