Keith James Pieper

Keith James Pieper, 90, of Napa, beloved husband & father, passed away on August 21, 2025. Keith was born on June 28, 1935 to Ardell and Modesta Pieper in Kalona, Iowa. After Keith graduated from Kalona High School in 1953, he went on to study Engineering at Fresno State. 

After graduating with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, he was hired at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in the Design Division of Ocean Engineering, Deep Submergence program in Code 280.2, kickstarting a 27 year career at Mare Island. 

He met his future bride in 1956 through a blind date, while stationed at Fort Ord,CA. Keith and Joan Johnson were married in 1957 and went on to have 2 girls, Terri & Julie Pieper. 

In 1988 Keith retired and moved into a life full and friends, family and travel. He and Joan spent their retirement years centered around RVing, fishing, golfing, playing cards and traveling. Keith was also very handy and could fix anything, which also kept him very busy. 

Keith was predeceased by his parents, Ardell & Modesta Pieper, and a sister Connie Bauer.  He is survived by his wife Joan and daughters Terri & Julie Pieper. 

A celebration of life will be held at Tulocay Funeral Home on September 18th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Share the Care, Community Projects, or a charity of your choice.
