Judith Leporiere Obituary

Judith Louise Leporiere (Nee Crowhurst), aged 85, of American Canyon, passed away on July 19th, of natural causes.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Leporiere, and her twin brothers Tom and Chris Crowhurst.  She is survived by her daughter and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Leporiere and Penny Hicks, as well as her son David Leporiere and his wife Julie Leporiere.  Judy is also survived by her grandchildren, Brittany, Amanda, and Anna Leporiere, and Jake, Jon, and Annie Hanson.  Judy also had one great-grandchild, Frankie Mae Leporiere-Muth.

Judy was born in Roselle, New Jersey in 1939.  She was raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey and attended Abraham Clark and Union City High Schools, graduating in 1957.  She worked at White Laboratories in New Jersey where she met her husband, Ralph, in 1959.  They were married in November 1960, and moved to Vallejo, California that same year.  Judy welcomed her daughter Bonnie to the world in 1961, followed by David in 1964.  The family moved to American Canyon in 1967.

Judy was a doting mother and served as a room mother for her childrens’ classes at Napa Junction Elementary School, before becoming a paid employee at the school in 1973.  Judy volunteered with the Girl Scouts, the Cub Scouts, North Vallejo-Mare Island Little League, and the Napa Junction Elementary School PTA, serving as both vice-president and president.  Judy worked at Napa Junction Elementary School in several different positions during her more than 30 years of employment, making connections with multiple generations of students from the American Canyon area.  She will always be remembered for her kindness, her smile, and her willingness to help in any way she could.

In her youth, Judy became a member of Rainbow Girls, and later a lifetime member of Eastern Star.  After retiring, Judy enjoyed traveling, taking multiple cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Panama Canali, and many other destinations.  She loved her outings with several different senior citizen groups, attending plays, visiting state and national parks, and the occasional trip to a casino.  She was an avid reader of romance novels, enjoyed playing bingo, and in her later years she spent countless hours feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in her backyard.  She loved her pet dogs throughout her life, and had her most recent dog, Honeybun, by her side at the time of her passing.

She was loved by her family and friends, and will surely be missed.  A memorial service will be held at the Tulocay Cemetery Chapel at 2 p.m., on Thursday August 15th.
