It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Willson on March 13, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters, two granddaughters, one great-grandson, three sisters, and numerous cousins, who carry forward her legacy of strength, kindness, and community spirit.
A lifelong advocate for togetherness and service, Joyce was devoted to her family in every way. She was always the first to step up when someone needed guidance, encouragement, or a steady hand. Whether she was organizing family gatherings, lending a listening ear, or sharing in the joys and challenges of life, her love and support were constant. She had a gift for bringing people together and a natural talent for leadership, always rising to the occasion when a group needed direction.
Joyce took great pride in her many years of work at the California Veterans Home in Yountville as an Activities Coordinator. She worked her way up from janitorial services to the coffee shop, eventually becoming a certified Activities Coordinator. She dedicated herself to planning hospital therapy programs, community and member outings, and event space management. She also oversaw the CJP program, giving individuals the opportunity to volunteer at the home as part of their rehabilitation. She loved her work and the veterans she served, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
Beyond her career, Joyce's passion for leadership extended into every part of her life. She didn't just participate-she led with enthusiasm, creativity, and a determination to make every group she was part of stronger and more connected. Over the years, she poured her energy into countless organizations, including the PTA, Camp Fire Girls, 4-H, Red Hat Society, Bunco, Bocce Ball, and her bowling league-always encouraging friends to join her in activities she loved.
Joyce was also a woman of many talents and creative passions. She was an accomplished seamstress, found joy in ceramics and stained glass, and had an undeniable creative flair that she carried into all aspects of her life.
A proud and longtime resident of Napa, California, Joyce touched the lives of many in her community with her warmth and vibrant spirit. She will be put to rest at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa, California, a place close to her heart.
In accordance with her wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor her remarkable journey and the love she shared with the world.
