John Rawlins Jr. passed away on March 25th, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1941 to John and Mona Rawlins, he moved to Napa that same year. John grew up in Napa where he met his future wife, Vicki Kroplin Rawlins, at Napa High School. Together, they raised their three daughters and ran their business, Napa Septic Tank Service. John lived and worked his entire life in his beloved town.
John was a three sport athlete at Napa High School and named Block N Athlete of the Year in 1959 as a senior. John was later inducted into the Napa High School Athletic Hall of Fame. John had an incredible memory and loved reminiscing about his childhood, playing sports, and Napa history. John was loyal to his customers and the go-to expert in Napa for all things septic.
John was a dedicated "Papa". He never missed a sporting event or performance and would go to any length to make sure his grandkids had the things that made them happy. He was quick to tell people how proud he was of his grandchildren. John will be remembered through the things he loved; music, concerts, baseball, fast-pitch softball, shooting the breeze, good home cooking, and family vacations in Lake Tahoe.
John is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law: Laura and Jose Ceja, Leslie and Jon Gjestvang, and Jill and Mike Raymond; his siblings, Barbara Estes and Dennis Rawlins; and his grandchildren, Andrea Ceja, Elizabeth Ceja, Alex Ceja, Gabriela Ceja, Zoe Gjestvang, Anabelle Gjestvang, Emily Raymond, Andrew Raymond, and Nicholas Raymond.
He was predeceased by his wife, Vicki; his parents, John and Mona; his brother, Gary; and his grandchildren, Kendall Raymond and Griffin Raymond.
