John Collin Bubenheimer entered into rest on August 22, 2023 at the age of 67 after a ten year battle with cancer.
John was born on March 28, 1956 in Queens, New York to Martin David Bubenheimer and Joan Lillian Shanks. He graduated from Vintage High School in 1974. He took some college classes and settled into a career as a welder. John retired in January 2023 after 32 years working for Benicia Fabrication & Machine. John loved his job and the community of people he worked with.
John was a man who could just about fix anything and enjoyed the challenge of doing so. John loved snow skiing, scuba diving, going to the movies and spending the holidays with his family. John was an avid gamer on Counter Strike and had many friends in that community. John was a member of the Napa Rifle and Pistol Club, joining in memory of our Dad who was a longtime member himself. John was a good neighbor, helping out when he could. Many of his neighbors enjoyed his rib dinners prepared in his smoker.
John is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Mike Barnes, niece and nephew, Jolene and Luke Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Contributions in John’s memory can be made to the Monterey Bay Aquarium or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Interment is private. No services are planned at this time.
