Joan I. Amir

Joan Isabelle Connors Amir, 93, of Napa, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 24, 2026.

Joan was born on April 5, 1932 in Old Westbury, New York to Joseph and Emma Connors the third child of four. When she was 16 years old, Joan and her family moved to Napa, settling on a prune and walnut ranch with a house and chicken coop. Joan and her sister, Nancy, would collect eggs and sell them on the corner of what is now Solano Avenue and Orchard Avenue.

Joan met her husband, Michael M. Amir while attending Napa High School and they married in 1950. They moved to Southern California, creating a family of five children and remained there until his passing 21 years later.

Joan worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company (now AT&T) as a Directory Assistance operator for 30 years, pausing to raise her children.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emma, and siblings, William, Robert, and Nancy.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Linda (Mike), Susan, Michael (Ayten), Alexander del Sol, Catherine (Chris), grandchildren, Matthew (Milena), Danielle (Arvin), Alyssa, Michelle, Nick, Maya and Imany and three (soon to be four) great grandchildren.

While we will all miss her profoundly, and our hearts grieve her passing, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is now at peace.

Internment will be private at the Connors Family Plot, Tulocay Cemetery, Napa, California.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the SPCA Haven of Solano County, an organization Joan felt strongly about.
