Sus 20 nietos y nietas; Mary Elizabeth, Victor, Esteban, Lorena, Marcos, Ricardo, Rodrigo, Andrea, Diego, Vanessa, Jorge, Oscar, Cesar, Diego, Yesenia, Eduardo, Alondra, Salvador, Jesus, y Christopher.

With deep sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Jesus Raya Sierra. He passed peacefully at 93, surrounded by loved ones in his daughter's home in Napa, Ca.
Jesus was the second of 5 children from Carmen Sierra and Jesus Raya. He was born in 1930 in a small town named Puerta del Monte in Guanajuato, Mexico. He lived there most of his life with his wife and helped raise their seven children.
In Mexico, he always worked in agriculture, planting anything from maize, tomatoes, chiles, beans, and peanuts. When he moved to Napa in 1994, he continued to work in agriculture but in the vineyards throughout the valley. When he finally retired, his love for plants continued to display in his daughter Maria's garden, where he grew many plants, flowers, vegetables, and various fruit trees.
Jesus was also an animal lover. He always had a pet to take care of or a stray to feed. His most recent pets were the family cat Rosie (Michis) and the family dog Roxie, a 90 lb Rottweiler he would feed every morning.
Jesus loved walking; he never learned how to drive, but that never stopped him from moving. He would quickly memorize all the streets to his favorite stores or local parks and zip through Napa. When Jesus' grandkids were younger, he would take them to the park or on these walks; they share many fond memories. Through his adventures is how he met so many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Amelia. He is survived by his seven children; Victor Manuel, Martha, Carmen, Maria, Jose, Ana, and Guadalupe. His 20 grandkids; Mary Elizabeth, Victor, Esteban, Lorena, Marcos, Ricardo, Rodrigo, Andrea, Diego, Vanessa, Jorge, Oscar, Cesar, Diego, Yesenia, Eduardo, Alondra, Salvador, Jesus, and Christopher. He is survived by his 26 great-grandchildren; Catalina, Jaxon, Adelene, Mateo, Timoteo, Diana, Sara, Lorenzo, Brian, Trinidad, Victoria, Santiago, Julian, Damian, Israel, Ismael, Isabella, Ariela, Giselle, Adriana, Diego, Marcelo, Melissa, Alexander, Jazlynn, and Luca.
