Jerome Edward Marek, a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 20, 2025, at Silverdale Washington Hospital.
Born and raised in Napa, California, Jerome graduated from Napa High School with the Class of 1970. He dedicated his career to working on nuclear submarines for the federal government, starting at Mare Island in 1971 and continuing at Sub Base Bangor until his retirement on September 2, 2014.
Jerome was a loving father to Paul Marek (Shannon) and Becky Boldway (John) and a proud grandfather to Cassidy, Anthony, and Riley (Paul’s children) and Deven, Ty, and Jake (Becky’s children). He was predeceased by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Teri Lynn Marek, his twin brother, Arthur Marek, and his parents, Jim and Margaret Marek.
Jerome and his late wife, Teri, built a beautiful life together in Port Ludlow, Washington, where they enjoyed their home and the natural beauty of the area. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved taking family and friends out on his boat for seasonal fishing, crabbing, and shrimping. He was also an avid sports fan, not only enjoying baseball and golf but also following his grandchildren’s athletic pursuits, always eager to watch their games or hear about their achievements. Jerome coached many of Paul and Becky’s baseball and softball teams over the years, sharing his love of the game with them and countless others.
Jerry’s sister, Catherine Saylor, passed away shortly after him, and a combined wake will be held in their honor. Jerry’s Urn Placement will take place on March 7 at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa, California, in a private gathering for close family and friends.
Jerry’s kindness, humor, and unwavering love for all who knew him will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
He will be deeply missed.
