Jennifer Costa Obituary

Jennifer Marco Costa, born April 29, 1971, in Napa, California, passed away far too soon on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 6:52 PM in the comfort of her home. After spending six days in hospice care, Jennie — in true “Jennie” fashion — met the end of her journey with remarkable strength and grace. Her fierce love for life and indomitable spirit were evident until her very last breath. Jennie was the beloved daughter of Antonio “Tony” Costa and Lynda Marco Costa of Napa, CA, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her cherished grandparents Vi and Ernie Costa of Vallejo, CA, and Kay and Tom Marco of Kettle Falls, WA. To all who knew her — family, friends, and former colleagues alike — Jennie was a radiant light. She embodied compassion, generosity, and boundless love. Her laughter was infectious, her energy uplifting, and her kindness left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Born at Queen of the Valley Hospital, Jennie grew up in Napa and graduated from Vintage High School, where she was a standout athlete in both softball and gymnastics. She went on to attend Arizona State University, studying Communications and becoming an active member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, a sisterhood that remained close to her heart throughout her life. Whether she was golfing, dancing to country music, or volunteering and raising money for the Ronald McDonald House, Jennie approached every moment with joy and heart. Jennie’s love of baseball began early, shaped by her childhood and her father’s involvement coaching American Legion teams. This passion led to her first role in Major League Baseball, managing the ticket office for the Oakland Athletics’ Spring Training in Phoenix. She also worked with the AAA affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, the Scottsdale Firebirds. After graduating, Jennie returned home to Napa and began a long and successful career with the Oakland A’s. She later transitioned into the wine industry, bringing her trademark warmth and professionalism to both corporate offices and tasting rooms across the Valley. Eventually, she joined her family’s business — Costa Engineers — where she worked alongside her parents and helped carry forward their legacy in Napa. Jennie created a home full of laughter, love, family, and of course, her beloved dogs. She had a sharp mind for mysteries — often solving crime shows faster than the detectives — and a quiet love for simple joys like Color by Number on her phone or getting her hands dirty in the garden alongside her fiancé. Her home, her smile, and her spirit were always open to others. Above all, Jennie will be remembered for her magnetic personality — her generosity, her quick wit, her loyalty, and her vibrant smile that could light up even the darkest room. CONT: Jennie is survived by her devoted fiancé, Art Navarro of Napa, CA; her aunt Margaret Houston-Wright of Vallejo, CA; her cousins Shari Houston of Woodland, CA; Tatum Spalding of Seattle, WA; Marnie Sly of Kettle Falls, WA and and Di Wiley of Kettle Falls, WA; her uncle Tom Marco of Livingston, ID; her Aunt Marianne Marco of Livingston, ID; her Aunt Donna Stewart of Kettle Falls, WA; her cousin Gregg Marco; and her cousin John Connelly of Vallejo, CA, her cousins Justin, Zachary, Colin and Kenidi Connelly, Brance Barber, Kash and Karson Sly along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and relatives across Massachusetts and Australia who will miss her presence dearly. She is also preceded in death by her cousins Suzi Connelly of Vallejo, CA, and her uncle Jerry Marco of Kettle Falls, WA. A celebration of Jennie’s life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Tulocay Cemetery and Funeral Home in Napa. A reception will follow the interment, where loved ones will gather to honor the life of a woman who brought joy, light, and love to all she encountered.
