Jeff Sowells

Jeff Sowells passed away unexpectedly at his home in Napa, CA, August 25, 2023, at the young age of 70.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Dawn, of Napa, CA; children: Julie Briggs, Evan Sowells, Kari Sowells of Napa, CA; and grandchildren: Idarah and Cael; nephew, Brant Andersen from Kingsburg, CA.

Jeff was born in Reedly, CA, and grew up in Kingburg. Sister, Joan Andersen of Kingsburg; brother, Jerry of Minnesota. Predeceased by his father, J. B and Naomi Sowells.

After high school, he kayaked the Grand Canyon, sailed on a fishing boat to Mexico, climbed Mt. Whitney, and filled his adventurous heart with many extraordinary experiences that he loved to share. In 1991, Jeff married Dawn Porter, they were married 31 years. Jeff enjoyed good company, good food, and good wine.

Jeff was a wine crafter and involved in the wine industry for 52 years. He was the owner of Topaz Wine and also held lots of smaller wineries in The Valley. He spent his days playing with his grandchildren, tending to his garden and Fishing.
