Helen Moore Obituary

Helen "Elaine" Moore was a mother, grandmother and businesswoman who lived most of her life in Napa. Elaine was born April 3, 1935, in Stockton, California, and died March 16, 2023, in San Francisco after a long illness.

She married her first husband, Don Bush in 1954, and had two sons, Greg and Terry. She later married Joseph Moore, and had another son, Joe. The family of five lived in Napa where Elaine worked at various positions before opening her clothing store, "The Total Woman." She went on to open a second location in Santa Rosa.

While she was a successful businesswoman who later worked in real estate and other ventures, her true passion was her children and grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event that involved her three sons, who played football, track and basketball, as well as their other activities. She was a constant presence in the lives of her grandchildren, particularly Brittney and Holly, following the passing of their mother.

Elaine was also a talented artist who gifted her friends and family with many of her paintings and sculptures. She was often happiest when at her easel.

Later in life, Elaine enjoyed traveling with her children and friends, with destinations including Hawaii, Turkey and Italy.

She was lucky to have great friends throughout her life: Barbara Mahan of Napa, Karla Bailey of Napa, and Yvonne Stockton of Winters. She also maintained a lifelong relationship with her daughter-in-law, Debra Moore.

Elaine was predeceased by her son, Greg (Cynthia) of Napa. She is survived by sons: Terry of Graeagle, and Joe (Kim) of Napa. She is survived by six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: Brittney Timmons (Adam) and their children: Elena and Mila of Napa; Holly Tholke (Nick) and son, Noah of Napa; Kristin Moore (Danny) of Moraga; Carly Kurpjuweit (Kris) and their children: Carter, Camden, Colton and Kennedy of Quincy; Chris Moore (Jamie) and sons: Bryce and Gage of Iowa; and Michael Proshek and children: Bruce, Daloma and Sage of Chico. She is also survived by her sister, Tanna Jacobson.
