Giselle Herrera Gomez

Giselle Herrera Gomez, 16, entered suddenly into rest on December 23, 2021 in Lathrop, CA. She was born June 23, 2005 in Napa, California. 

Giselle leaves many broken hearts, which include those of her mom Maria Ortencia Gomez, and stepfather Leo Alba and father Ramiro Herrera and stepmother Carmen Estrada. Giselle leaves her big brothers Ramiro Herrera Gomez Jr. and Jason Herrera Gomez, which she looked up to and truly admired. She leaves her adored grandparents Juana Robledo and Jose Gomez of Manteca and Alfredo Herrera and Catalina Herrera of Napa. Giselle leaves her tia Yolanda Poulsen Gomez of Manteca and tios Alfredo and Rene Herrera of Napa. In addition, Giselle leaves her best friend Brenda Soto-Guevara, many cousins, extended family and a mass of friends who Giselle chose as family. 

Giselle was a long time Manteca resident. In her early elementary years, she attended Snow Elementary in Napa. Giselle would enter the 3rd grade at Joshua Cowell School in Manteca. She looked forward to her high school years. She attended Manteca and Calla High School and made countless friends. Giselle’s many talents shined, as she played the piano beautifully and painted amazing works of art that she gifted to her many friends. She felt music in her soul and her moods went in sync with her favorite songs.  She loved purely and freely. Giselle was never prejudice, not of color, culture or creed. She loved and lived without boundaries. She opened herself mentally and emotionally letting love guide her. Giselle’s zest for life was that of a true 16 year old, full of joy and optimism. She was her mom’s best friend and her dad’s little princess. Giselle came into this world for a brief moment to spread her gift of joy. 

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, the way she approached life, courageously and full of grace.        

We ask that you remember her in your hearts and always say her name, for if we always speak her name she will never be gone.     

P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve Giselle’s family. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2021 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Rosary at 6:00pm at P.L.  Fry and Son, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S, Carrolton Road, Escalon, CA.
