Gail Ruth Orrock-Zeller

Having learned and demonstrated what Love is all about, our beloved Gail Ruth Orrock-Zeller has been promoted to Heaven. Our sweet Gail passed peacefully on September 19, with family lovingly surrounding her with prayer, laughter, hugs and kisses. Gail was born and raised in Napa, along with her brother and sister. She attended St. John's Church and School, with our father Bill Orrock ahead of her by one year. Their families knew each other through the years and in 1952, Bill and Gail married and began their family. Prior to and in the early years of their marriage, Gail worked at the Napa Register, as well as the Napa Credit Bureau. Along with our Dad, she was very involved in the activities of St. Apollinaris Church and School, where all five of their children attended. After their children were raised, Gail worked for the Napa County Office of Education in various capacities, a favorite being an assistant in the Napa Infant Program.

She lived her life with deep faith in God, and regularly spoke of her gratitude to Him for all of His many blessings. Gail was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she did so with the utmost of love and care (and humor!)- always caring for others before herself. Truly, to know her was to love her. Bill and Gail were happily married for fifty-two years when Bill suddenly passed, leaving her heartbroken. At the age of 80, she fell in love and married Jack Zeller, a longtime family friend and best friend of Bill's since high school. Gail and Jack were sweetly and happily married for 11 years before her passing.

Gail leaves behind her husband, Jack; children: Jill Littlefield (Adam); Jaynie Smith (Ken); Julie Sloway (Al); Dan Orrock (Jeanie) and Tom Orrock (Joelle); grandchildren: Mandee Orrock, Danielle Orrock (Nick), Ben Orrock (Dee), Jake Dickson (Desiree), Grace Littlefield, Kate Aguilar (Andrew), Sam Smith, Will Smith, Ryan Sloway (Leslie), Derek Sloway, Matthew Orrock, Logan Orrock; great-grandchildren Brayden, Eli, Ronan, Kiera, Connor, Zaylee, J.J., James and Wyatt.

A Funeral Mass in her honor will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Napa on Friday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m.
