Fran Cassayre passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2021, after a long battle with lymphoma. She was 84 years old.
Fran was born in San Francisco, moved to Napa at the age of 12, and graduated from Napa High School in 1955. In 1956 she married a Napa local, Paul Cassayre and raised three daughters. She worked at Ryken's Gift Shop owned by relatives Bill & Barbara Ryken, volunteered at school, church, Molly's Angels, COPE Family Services, and anywhere else she could help out. She left behind a legacy of faith, family and service.
Fran will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. She was an incredibly intelligent, loving, loyal, caring, and brave woman. She lived her life with grace and dignity and when she became too ill to help others, she passed away quietly. The world has lost an amazing woman.
She is survived by her husband Paul Cassayre of 65 years, daughter's Mary Miroglio, Anne Sullivan, and Diane Cassayre, sons-in-law Bruce Miroglio and Brian Sullivan, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Bruce and Betty Cassayre, Jim and Carolyn Cassayre and Bruce and Mary MacLean.
She is preceded in death by parents Joseph and Frieda Ulrich, brother Donald Ulrich, in-laws Louis and Frances Cassayre, and granddaughter, Valerie Sullivan.
The funeral schedule is as follows: Wednesday, 9/1/21: Rosary at St. Apollinaris @ 7:00 PM. Thursday, 9/2/21: Funeral Mass at St Apollinaris @ 11:00 am followed by burial and reception at Tulocay Cemetery.
