Fabiola Vasquez Ayala

Fabiola Vasquez Ayala passed away peacefully at her home in Napa, Ca on July 31, 2024, at the age

of sixty-six.

Born in Michoacan, Mexico in 1957 to Gustavo and Trancito Vazquez, Fabiola was the eldest of

twelve siblings. In 1975, Fabiola moved to the United States and settled in Napa where she met and

married Ignacio Medina Ayala. Fabiola, a beloved mother of seven, is survived by her husband,

youngest son, five daughters, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Fabiola was also known throughout the community as La Maestra Fabiola, having served as a

preschool teacher for over 35 years. First as a home-based teacher with Napa Head Start, where

she provided endless support and enthusiasm to children and their families. Later, Fabiola joined

the Napa Preschool Program where she continued to teach at Phillips and Shearer Elementary

Schools, and at the Imola Preschool campus. Fabiola loved all her kids, both past and present,

leaving fond memories and lasting impressions on the hundreds of families she served throughout

her career.

As an individual, Fabiola was a cherished sister, an amazing friend, a supportive colleague, a yoga

enthusiast, an active gym member, a dancer, a devoted dog mom and so much more. Simply put,

Fabiola brought light, joy and energy to every interaction.

Friends and colleagues are invited to share in Fabiola’s Celebration of Life memorial on Sunday

August 18, 2024, from 10am-2pm at Tulocay Funeral Home.
