Enriqueta Bueno-Benesa

Enriqueta Bueno-Benesa, 88, of American Canyon, California, passed away on 31 January 2025.

Etta was born on 14 November 1936 to Aurelio S. Bueno, Sr. and Josefina M. Sacro in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. After Etta graduated from St. John Academy in 1954, she went on to study Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Metro Manila, Philippines. After graduating with a degree in English, she started her first job in Don Bosco Technical College as a teacher, kickstarting a 37-year career in teaching, and a five-year career as the first lay principal for basic education.
In 1960, Etta met Jovencio “Ben” Benesa at Quezon City. Etta and Ben went on to have six (6) children – Jose Carmelo, Maria Carmela, Marie Camille, Carlo Dominic, Carmine Marie, and Monique.

In 2000, Etta retired and spent her time with her grandchildren teaching them to play the piano. Etta was pre-deceased by her eldest son, Jose Carmelo. She is survived by her husband, Ben, her children Carmela, Camille, Carlo, Carmine, and Monique.

Services will be held at Tulocay Cemetery Funeral Home and Crematory in 411 Coombsville Road, Napa, CA 94559. Her remains can be visited and viewed on 10 and 11 February 2025 from 12:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon. A Eucharistic Mass for her final blessings is on 12 February 2025.
