Dorothy Ann Lovie Adams

VACAVILLE - Dorothy Ann Lovie Adams passed away peacefully in Vacaville, CA, on November 30, 2023.
Dorothy was born on September 18, 1941, in Spokane Washington to Ann and Donald Lovie and raised by Thomas Bentley her stepfather. Dorothy graduated from Napa High School in 1959. Dorothy spent most of her life raising her four children. She also worked as a real estate agent, housekeeper and daycare provider.
Dorothy loved gardening and planting flowers. She loved to sew and made over 40 quilts for all her family members. She enjoyed canning and was a wonderful cook. Dorothy adored her husband Chuck, and they shared many adventures together over their 62 years of marriage.
They were stationed in 1961 in Japan for three-and-a-half years with the Navy and then in 1968 spent ten years in Taiwan. Later they were stationed in NAS Alameda and bought their first home in Napa, CA, in 1971.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Charles Edward Adams; children, Charles Joseph Adams (Joe), Laura Ann Thomas, and Kimberly Lynnette Adams. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Bentley (Lopriore); stepfather, Thomas Bentley; father, Donald Lovie; and her son, Kevin James Adams.
Dorothy was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed.
Please join us in celebrating Dorothy's life on January 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa, CA. Her service will be held in the chapel and followed by a reception.
